Similar to a troll, a forum rat is someone who has spent so much time on an internet forum site, such as Gametrailers or Gamespot, that they start to use the usual forum-like mannerisms in real life. Whether intentional or not, this is not a good thing. It could have originated from term mallrat.
Person A: "Dude, I totally caught this 20 pound marlin out near Cabo San Lucas last weekend"

Get the Forum Ratmug. seems to think freedom of speach is a licence to write whatever old nonsense he or she likes, yet doesnt grant this luxury to anyone who dares disagree with them. Harbours some pretty abhorrent views on minorities, but usually stops short of actually admiting their true feelings. Gets incredibly angry when reading sensationalised tabloid headlines, believes everything they have ever been told by anyone. Trys to end debates with "well thats your view!!!!!", probably punctuates posts with an insane amount of smilies

Get the forum snobmug. A message board that is still online, but is practically deserted, save for a small group of people who still visit it. Normally there are large amounts of broken links, and any topics not on the front page are a few years old.
