Eiger Fail

A failure ( or fail ) so disastrous that it achieves the total reverse of what was originally planned because the effect of an action has become so dissociated from the intent behind it.

A reference to the Clint Eastwood movie 'The Eiger Sanction', in which Clint, an assassin, is so convinced his target is a member of a teem of mountaineers climbing the Eiger - he just doesn't know which one. So he murders all of them just to make bloody sure - then finds out he was wrong all along, like a moron, because it's been obvious as hell all along who the real bad guy is.

You go ahead and use i had a FAMILY EMERGENCY.

Employee " I have a family emergency that i need to attend to in Arizona, my neice got locked up and she has now one to bail her out on friday so i need to go pick her up"

Manager " Thats fine you can go ahead and take the day off"
