These are memes based on a piece of media that are considered and implemented on new instances of the media

An ascended meme has either changed the nature of the original piece of art to the point it's their own unique thing, or is a satiric critique of the original. The main point is that the meme is particular enough to be recognizable once it makes a cameo in the new media.

The creation of these memes are often considered negative as they are either used to pander the fan-base or to please normies with well established, very popular, older memes, both ways can seriously reduce the quality of a show or movie.
