This statement derives from the general relativity theory published by Albert Einstein in 1915. It refers about the event in which an accelerated body crosses the spacetime boundary of a black hole known as the "event horizon". Single black women having become disillusioned with being the breadwinner and homemaker of the family. It is a popular lyric to a song, but sometime used i phrases or as comparisons to things. it's basically taking one step back. and it means, making progress towards something but making less progress rather than more, if that makes sense.
