When one experiences a heartbeat so intense or so bad that I can cause your heart to malfunction.

It can also cause a muscle in your heart to tear causing weaker pulse

John: Steve broke up with Jessica recently, it really really hurt him. He was hospitalised because of it.

Alex: Really?

John: Yeah, the nurses told me it was called Heartbreak Syndrome
