The term given to an ex girlfriend/boyfriend that you thought was serious until someone better comes along that is actually worth your time.

Lauren: "Jill, you just got over a relationship and are now dating someone new? You are totally Rebounding!"

Jill: "Umm no.. my ex was a total prebound. I needed it to figure out what it is I REALLY want in a relationship. Just to pass the time. The one im dating right now is much more serious and waaay better!"
