With love, you accept everything because you're happy with who or what it is you love. So you aren't risking losing anything, because you've accepted anything can happen. You are never unhappy with love, fear losing love or scared of love. Then it is not love. That is just an infatuation because you do not consciously understand that there is an immense satisfaction when you are in love.
You can cherish people or material without possessing or having it near you. That's an illusion people have because they're afraid it won't come back to them. It isn't love then, it's either an addiction or obsession.
You aren't letting anything go, you've accepted that it has gone and it shouldn't hurt because you love it so much you feel it has never left.

Love is wanting the best for another person because they are special. Love is showing them kindness and compassion without expecting anything in return. Love is not a choice, love is just there.
