tape ape

A low-level computer operator or systems administrator. So named for one of the customary duties of such a position, which was to start backups manually from the command line, switch tapes as needed, and monitor the backup for successful completion.

Storage Area Networks, RAID arrays, tape jukeboxes, and the like have largely rendered such jobs obsolete.

Staple Tape

Literal tape with staples in it. Does it make it better? According to the propaganda! (Staple Tape is not available in any stores and must be made by the user. Schools offer the supplies for free if the teachers aren’t looking.)

Person #1: My pants just ripped and scotch tape won’t hold them together. Do you have anything stronger?
Person #2: I’ll make some Staple Tape!
Person #1: Will it hold?
Person #2: Obviously, it’s Staple Tape!

To enact casual bondage using tape of any form. Usually started by a roleplay following the tape theme. Can be used as a word to make someone more comfortable or confident from this form of casual bondage, not seeming as ‘weird’.
