Someone who changes their musical style/goes to a bigger record label to make more money. People just say sellout so they can look hardcore
though. Because let's look at blink-182, they changed their style, but they've been on the same label. Did they sellout ? Who knows ? Maybe they just wanted to change their style from the old less-mature stuff.
People say Greenday sold out with their CD, "Dookie" from changing labels, but they didn't change their style.

A word used by stuck up teenagers who think that if music is popular and the album gets into the top 10 then the band are automatically are rubbish and are terrible.
One of the most 'sellout' bands of our time is Green Day. I am a Green Day fan and I will freely admit that but I have friends who in 2000 liked Green Day but since American Idiot claim 'Green Day are shit! They are such sellouts!' And these people haven't even heard of Kerplunk. I don't think that any band has sold out. Every band sets out to make music and to hopefully be famous. Everyone wants a limo. Everyone wants £1m record contract.
Being rich doesn't mean you make rubbish music. It doesn't mean you don't care anymore. It just means you are rich and have a lot of fans.

And Good Charlotte? MTV from the start in my opinion.
(Silly person) Omg I love this band! I'll always love Green Day!
(Silly person 3 or 4 years down the line) I hate this band! They have never made a good song in their lives. I always hated them! Green Day are such sellouts.

I can't believe how much of a sellout Ajit Pai is being and how calm he's acting over the bullshit he's pulling with Net Neutrality! And he's getting away with it!!!!

When someone advertises a product that they themselves don't truly believe in and are usually only doing so to gain more money.
John is a sellout.
