a 'stupid-idiot' term used by people who are excited to go home from college and hang out with their family and are upset there isn't an actual term for this sentiment.

Sarah: "I am so excited to go home and have a fam-dam!"

When your ex still hangs around your family and clings on to them for family occasions like Christmas etc.

My ex just invaded my families Christmas day, so I couldn't take my new partner, they are a Fam-invader.

Fam Ballam 

Originally used ironically, in context of being both sardonic use of "fam" combined with a pun based on the hit song "Black Betty" originally written by Ram Jam or more commonly known as performed by Spiderbait, has become a frequently used longer alternative to the more common "fam".

Users of this term often find themselves spontaneously breaking out into song, continuing to recite the lyrics of "Black Betty".
