2. Newscaster: "There's been a casualty with the airliner, a wiring problem caused it to crash, killing over a hundred passengers."

3. Soldier 1: "Where's our extra ammo?"
Soldier 2: "HQ didn't send any."
Soldier 1: "Another casualty, eh?"

club-casual

Club-Casual is how you dress when you're going for dinner and then clubbing, usually with co-workers or old friends. You don't want to be uncomfortable all night, but you want to look great and be able to dance.

Wear dress pants or a skirt and sweater or golf shirt. Black or white is always hot at the clubs.

Casual Undertime

Getting paid for forty hours for the week when one has worked less than forty hours for the week. It is best when casual undertime is achieved by legitimate means, such as leaving early for the 4th of July Holiday with your bosses permission.

I work casual undertime during the work week before a three day weekend: I usually can leave four hours early on Friday and still be paid for them.

Casualty of Clearing

A Casualty of Clearing (also known as a Clearing Casualty) is a term used in UK universities to refer to someone who is so desperate to go to university that they choose any subject through the UCAS clearing process even when their preferred option is no longer available.

These kinds of students often perform poorly in academic work and/or have little interest in the subject at hand. They eventually end up dropping out from university altogether.

Can be synonymous with a university party animal in many (but not all) cases.

Student 1: Callum was telling me that he chose to do Geology through clearing, but he doesn't seem to be enjoying it at all.

Student 2: He has only attended one lecture and apparently failed all his coursework so far. He told me he is thinking of dropping out.

Student 1: Callum must be a Casualty of Clearing.
