A house punk is a punk, transient or non-transient, who primarily lives in houses as opposed to in vehicles or on the streets. There is occasionally strife between gutter punks and house punks, though usually the two try to maintain harmony.

That house punk has a separate couch to crash at if it gets too cold tonight.

A modern family unit of any combo of people that lives as a family in the same house.

Could be a "nuclear family": parents + kids.
Could be an "extended family": parents + kids + grandparents.
Could be a "mixed family": different family units.
