Same-date

Same-dating occurs when the two individuals in a couple each have dated an ex-girlfriend/ex-boyfriend who are now currently dating each other. When this occurs, each member (of the two couples) has same-dated every other member in the group.

Guy: "Hi honey, did you hear that my ex-girlfriend, Stacy is dating your ex-boyfriend Kevin?"

Girl: "Ewwww! I can't believe I same-dated Stacy!"

Guy: "Yeah, and now I'm eskimo brothers with Kevin!"

It's the date between the first and second date. This only applies when the second date has been meticulously planned and you don't want to bump it to the third date. This is the date where the magic happens.

Tina invited me out to the festival before our second date, I guess that's the 1 1/2th date as we had great plans for our second date.

Rest Date is a term used when someone dies and you need the date of their death. The day they "laid to rest".

Ex.

Sarah: My mother died last year.
Dr: What was her rest date?

Sarah: Dec. 9th

Post hoc date

When two people in the 'talking phase' meet up initially and do date type things without planning on it, only to later realise that their meeting could qualify as a date.

Post hoc date refers to a date that is officially recognized or labeled as such after the fact, rather than being a planned or intentional first date.

The couple laughed about their first meeting, realizing that it was actually a post hoc date, as they had already grown close through weeks of getting to know each other.
