This is the true defintition:

n. a geek with VERY little/no social life.

This word was made as another word for geek (or vice-versa) and is still used by the general public, who do not know the true meaning of the word.

Cool person- "What a Nerd! He's the biggest geek ever. He doesn't even have ONE Abercrombie shirt!!"

Geek - "I like your pc, but you need to get out more. Come join our anime club!"

Nerd- "I'm not a nerd! I'm a geek! Get over it!" *snuffle*

One who has never set foot in a fashionable clothing store and has never been out with the opposite sex. not necessarily one whose IQ is greater than their weight, but one who shows it. Could also be one who shows more interest in tech-related things than the opposite sex. nerds also tend to wake up early on weekends and waste time doing pointless work that is not required for school.

nerd 1: OHEMGEE, so are you going to attend the great science and technology archiectural genius super-duper smart people convention this saturday at 6:00 AM?????
nerd 2: OF COURSE, DEEEUUUUUDEEEEEE!!! i heard that they have a new proto-cannon that uses Nuper power!!!!!

The term nerd has derived from posers who could not fit into a crowd and have resorted to absolute patheticness by trying to be different in their own "unique way". They typically like downloading PC games instead of downloading pornography of Kazaa on their spare time and they enjoy hanging out with their "friends" over the internet. Usually these friends consist of 40 year old males who say they have similar interests but are only trying to "get together for a visit". Also, nerds don't have social lives so they play with childish Pokemon cards during their lunch hour or during their spare period at school, not to mention they think of ways of "trying to take over the world". They also enjoy long walks on the beach with tight overalls on a hot sunny days and candelight dinners (glowsticks) with family and fellow nerd friends. They enjoy shopping for the latest designs at Thrift Stores and the Salvation Army and enjoy rocking glasses their parents wore when they were in high school.

Ex.1 --> Mahivens! Common Jimmie, let's go get a copy of Gilbert goes to computer camp before it's sold ouT!

Someone who plays runescape all day and brags about it at school. Also has poor social skills. Doesn't know the difference between a nerd and a geek. Can be smart but a big asshole. They try to act smart by saying that they don't study for tests. Sits in an awkward sitting stance.

Geek: I just got call of duty black ops today.

Nerd: FPS GAMES ARE STUPID! runescape is way better then that stupid game.

Geek:BULL SHIZ!

Nerd: Runescape is more popular than call of duty!

Geek: Most of Runescape's players are stupid 10 year old european kids and nerds like you!
