adriana lima

Born June 12, 1981 is a Brazilian-born supermodel, best known as one of the faces of Victoria's Secret.

One of the bevy of Brazilians entering the modeling world in the late 1990s (including Gisele Bündchen, Ana Beatriz Barros, Fernanda Tavares, Isabeli Fontana and Alessandra Ambrosio), the 5'10", chocolate brown-haired Adriana Lima rose to stardom out of less than glamorous conditions. Born in Salvador, a large city on the east coast of Brazil in the state of Bahia, Adriana was discovered at the age of 13 shopping at a local mall. At the age of 15, she finished 1st place in a Ford Supermodel of Brazil model search. She later followed with a 2nd place finish in the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest.

Shortly after, Adriana moved to New York City, and eventually moved on from Ford, signing with Elite Model Management. Her early career consisted mostly of fashion editorial work (with early appearances in international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire in 1997/1998), as well as runway work (Christian Lacroix, Valentino, and others). Adriana's first big break came when she was featured in a Vassarette billboard in Times Square. Her print career followed, and like many other famous names (Claudia Schiffer, Laetitia Casta, Eva Herzigova), Adriana became a Guess? Girl in their 2000 Costanoa campaign.

Adriana then built upon her entry, doing more print work (Maybelline, Bebe, Mossimo, BCBG) and gracing the cover and editorials of more high fashion magazines (Harper's Bazaar, Elle). Probably best known for her Victoria's Secret work and Angel status (along with Heidi Klum and Gisele), Adriana first graced the VS runway in 2000, and was the show opener for the 2003 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Adriana does charitable work by helping with an orphanage, "Caminhos da Luz" (Ways of Light), located in her home town. She helps with construction to expand the orphanage, and buys clothes for poor children in Salvador, Bahia.

God's (of any religion) chosen people, live in a Green and Pleasant land known as England. Comes from the fact that the Royal Navy was clever enough to give its Sailors a good source of Vitamin C to stop them dropping down dead with scurvy. And as at that time we had the World's largest Navy we needed Sailors to man, see unlike you Americans we don't man equipment, we equip MEN (real men not pansies who hide behind a gun!). A good example of this is the fact that Basra seemed not to hate us, and we could walk around our part of Iraq with berets, whilst the Americans needed 5 metres (Metric term, slightly longer than a Yard) worth of Armour.
Red Neck: Ahh sucks being at sea so long, missin' ma cousin, I got this scurvy too.

Limey: Hmm try this Lime, although we don't molest our cousins where I'm from old chap, can't help on that one! Hmm nice tea, so much better than that bloody awful coffee you chaps drink!

Limey

A term used to describe an English man or more generally a British citizen. Contrary to popular believe this proud nation of people don’t all have bad dental work or speak the Queens English but are probably one of the last countries on earth that don’t despise the Americans. The US owe its very existence to England/UK and without Britain that whole area would probably be some Spanish speaking shit hole like much of the rest of America. If you are going to comment on a country make sure you’ve been there or have ever left your own country at least. By the way no one says “old bean,” “Crikey” or “old chap” in Britain. In closing if you live on the west coast of America there is a good chance that you have some English or British blood in you.

Highly skilled at losing wars - I think America could be put in that bracket too.
Did he just call me a Limey, that one of the worst comebacks ever.

AAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH! reading these definitions by REDNECK yanks makes me so angry. Limey means someone from England, an Amercian term and as they think, insult. Good one, saying that some British sailors used to eat limes? Please no more! Whereas I could say you fat yank, BURGERY or DONUTTY, haha funny innit you twats. 'Limeys' are the BEST people in the world, ( no i'm not biased) and are so much better because we are not part of America, and although we haven't got the brightest button in the jar for a political leader, at least he isn't a redneck. Good day to you, sir. RULE BRITTANIA - oh yeah,we already do.
Yank; Hey Bud, you know where the sheriffs office is? I wanna report a felony, some jackass jacked my corn-dog at the mall.
Limey: learn to speak properly, you terminology is infuriating as is your accent, good day to you. Jeeves, pour the tea.
