The name of what metal now is, people don't understand that this is not a different genre, this is what metal has changed to. Also some of you saying nu-metal sucks need to realize, if it sucks, why would it be so much more popular. And don't go saying nu-metal has no meaning in any song after you heard three words from a band, you need to listen to a wider variety of it.
Nu-Metal has good bands: System of a Down, Mudvayne, and Slipknot(mainly only talking about the drummer and vocals)
And bad bands:Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, etc.

Get the nu-metalmug. the newer version of metal, evolution if you will. most of numetal involves heavy screaming, and not much actual singing. numetal generally contains simple riffs, super fast drumming, and above all SCREAMING like a banchee. though not all numetal sucks ass, most of it does, ex. linkin park, limp bizkit, etc. some good numetal bands include papa roach, system of a down, story of the year(kinda sketchy here) and a little bit of slipknot, some of their good songs. in conclusion, numetal is the transformation of old heavy metal to newer rappish/rock stuff.

Get the Nu Metalmug. Whiny crossbreed of 80s metal and any number of other elements (rap, hip-hop, and occasionally classical music). Usually involves people wanting to slit their wrists and die as bloodily as possible because they hate the world and everyone in it. Nu-metallers can probably be found in every town in the western world. You will know them by their Slipknot/Korn/Limp Bizkit/System of a Down hoodies and black cloud over their head that comes from being 15 and their parents 'not understanding them'.
