Pigs Ear

To make a right mess of things, to bollocks up a task, either at work, or driving the car, making a faux pas.

a I was filing back some documents and would you believe it, I made a right pigs ear of it, I misfiled everything.

b I made so many spelling mistakes on my document, I made a right pigs ears of it, my boss got the right arse ache. He asked me if I had heard of a spell checker.

c I was backing the car out of the garage, I overshot the drive and smacked it one against the gate post, scratching it. 'What a pigs ear I made of that one'

its is the universal method of communication between equal beings that will in turn interpret such a phrase as a complementary thank you for a task performed for another.

Or a term used to say thank you.

E.g.

me-Pass me that pen please

you-there you go (passes pen)

me-cheers ears! :D

squinty ears

unable to hear very well.
unable to understand what someone just said and repeating what you thought you heard.
very bad ears.
horrible listening skills.
selective hearing.
to have squinty ears is like having squinty eyes.

for example, did someone just say my name?

ghetto ear

A trait developed when one has lived in the ghetto for an extended amount of time. It allows the listener to distinguish between certain characteristics of the area - such as a gun shot.

*bang bang*
Person #1: Gun shots!
Person #2: How did you know that?
Person #1: Ghetto ear.
