SAM stands for Smart-Assed Masochist, although it is not a necessary requirement to be a masochist to be a SAM, they are the brats of the submissive types in BDSM. Their role is often consisted of trying to provoke their dominant. Some SAMs are driven by the punishment, others by the pain. (Punishment in BDSM =/= Pain).
