When a young naive person falls into lust, they quickly head over to Urban Dictionary to write the equivalent of a love letter. Writing a pointless and inaccurate assessment of the name of the particular wench they are infatuated with, in the hormoment.

Steve: "Did you hear Ron blathering over Skylar? He showed me what he wrote about her on Urban...
He was all like: " she's the most beautiful girl in the world..." and " she is a free spirit.."

Aaron: "Wow, definition dating... what a douche."

When a basketball player has a bad shooting performance that their stat lines resemble calendar dates (eg. 5/18, 2/12, 3/11). Typically used to make fun of players who have a stretch of bad games.

The Emergency Date Effect, or EDE for short, is defined as the moment when a person in a school or similar institute has no date for a social event, such as Prom or Homecoming, so asks out someone who is of a lower social standing of theirs or who they know already has some form a crush on them as an insurance policy.

Guy 1: “Hey, did you hear Tom managed to get a date with Maria?”
Guy 2: “Yeah, but I heard she had no other options. They’re only going out because of the Emergency Date Effect”
