Individuals who exhibit the ability to perform the technique often carry similar traits such as loneliness, introverted life styles, or feelings of disassociation/indifference towards their life. The "Step" cannot be taught or learned conventionally, however the most consistent method of acquisition is through meeting two conditions, the first being an acceptance of lack of self worth or feelings of non belonging in individuals, almost seeing ones self as a ghost in their own life and the second condition being to hold an approximated weight of less than 180 lbs or 81 kg. Increases in confidence in individuals possessing the Shadow Step, will result in a gradual loss in consistency of the technique overtime and one will notice foot steps become heavier as confidence grows.
