A term for a coding project where there is no design, no unit testing, no fancy buttons, just working code. It might be a little rough around the edges, but it gets the job done. Prevalent in a hackathon setting, for small idie projects, or programmers who couldn't give a fuck.

Also used to describe something that makes a person's mind "click" and allows them to understand so much more than they did before.

Vibe Coding

Describes a type of practice where someone utilizes AI assistant tools and premade script templates to write code. Usually they do not understand the code or know how to read it, but use a guess and check method to attempt to achieve their desired results. Older internet denizens might have called this type of person a 'script kiddie'. While there are many people who enjoy this as a hobby and professionally, it is often used for nefarious means and can be risky.

My cousin has spent the past week doing nothing but vibe coding trying to write an app to make him rich day trading on the Canadian stock market but all he has done so far is accidently give a social media hacker access to his porn and credit cards folder
