And in the 1980s Winnipeg had the highest teen pregnancy rate in all of Canada. A breakdown of Winnipeg’s statistics showed nearly all of these pregnancy’s to be in Transcona, with the local high school opening up a daycare for its students to drop their kids off while they went to grade 10, 11 or 12.
