(noun, verb) Someone who is a part of a group but sometimes distances themselves from said group, usually for personal reasons.

Based on the "Beast Wars" character of the same name, who was a part of the protagonist faction "Maximals" but chose to remain in the wilds, rather than join the group at their base.
