Many things may cause this, including arousal by something the entire group sees/hears, random ideas that become experiments, or alcohol/drugs. Usually ends with few (if any) members remembering what exactly happened or why.

Example: Chloe, Jared, Ralph, Jack, and Simon were going to have a powwow at Simon's house, until Jack showed up drunk with some hookers and made it a dirty powwow.
