pardis

It is an abbreviation for Paradise is an English word from Persian roots that is generally identified with the Garden of Eden or with Heaven. Originally meaning a walled garden or royal hunting grounds, the term entered Jewish (and eventually Christian) beliefs as a Greek translation for the Garden of Eden in the Septuagint. It is sometimes also identified with the bosom of Abraham, the abode of the righteous dead awaiting Judgment Day. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus tells a penitent criminal crucified alongside him that they will be together in paradise that day.

ponding basin

An open field, usually covered with grass, about the size of a football field or larger that is sunken into the ground ten feet or more from the surrounding land. Some storm drains empty into a ponding basin. They help deal with runoff to prevent flooding. The edges are usually somewhat steep, and if they are high enough, they can be used for sledding.

We flew kites in the ponding basin, even though the ground was a little moist.

Ponding

When you live in a place that has no beaches to tan, one must resort to tanning by a pond.

Waterloo doesn't have a single beach for tanning. So we had to go ponding instead.

One who has become proficient in brewing the perfect coffee from a commercial coffee pod such as Nespresso or K-fee capsule system.

A Barista is trained to make a brew the perfect coffee. A Podista has learnt to brew the perfect coffee from a capsule system. "That is the perfect coffee, I made it from a coffee pod, I am a Podista."
