A feeling of longing for the present, or of gratefulness that you are no longer in the past.

Same as Nostalgia, but for new things.

Things that feel familiar to you even tho they have no roots.

A: "Man this game hits me right in the childhood."
B: "Isn't that a recent game?"
A: "It's Newstalgia man."

Also known as a genre in different mediums such as film, video games, etc

That remake of the classic Resident Evil 2 coming out with the modern look and mechanics has all the ingredients for a newstalgia masterpiece.

Something that once deemed a novelty but is now deemed nostalgic, e.g. the aesthetic Frutiger Aero that was initially around from 2005 through 2014, after which it got to be "dormant" before it had a comeback in 2022

I was scrolling through old design trends and felt such newstalgia for Frutiger Aero; it was everywhere in the late 2000's and early 2010's, and now it's back in style.
