The measure of a persons reputation. Keep ones “face card” clean means making sure your reputation is not tarnished. Remaining a stand-up individual.

I let Ron borrow some money cause his face card is clean. I know he will pay me back on time.

Face card season

Face card season refers to the time when there's colder weather. During the cold weather, people are more likely to wear thicker layers and more jackets. Revealing clothes are not worn, so you can't really see others' bodies. This means when judged or being looked at by others, a person's facial appearance is the only thing that can be judged, not their body figure included.

Your looks better be valid or else you're not pulling this face card season.
