An act of idiocy, foolishness, stupidity or just really bad luck making the affected look like an 'ass' (ref. Dobbin the mule from 80's UK tv show Rentaghost - mule/donkey/ass)

After reversing a car without looking and hitting the car behind one could say 'That was a Dobbins Maneuver!'
