The condition of being unprepared for public appearance. "Slung-up" generally connotates the wearing of very casual clothes, a lack of makeup or jewelry, and a hat to hide unkempt hair. Such condition is often noted in individuals after a night of heavy partying.

"You going out Saturday night?"
"Nah, I'm just gonna stay slung-up at the house."

"I think I'm just gonna stay slung-up since I'm going through the drive-thru."

slung a rod

When all or part of a connecting rod smashes through the side of your block and destroys your engine. Usually caused by piston failure or the conrod itself breaking. In extreme cases, this will saw the block completely in half. Was much more common in the past when metallurgy, engineering and manufacturing techniques were more primitive. Now usually only seen on racing engines that run large boost pressures or nitrous oxide.

I was trying to run a 9 second pass in the Camaro but I slung a rod and hosed oil all over the track which pissed everyone off.
