meat minimalist

Someone who eats a minimal amount of meat in their diet. Though not vegetarian, a meat minimalist will live on a mostly plant-based diet that is augmented by small amounts of meat. A meat minimalist doesn't restrict eating a specific kind of meat but will eat small amounts of a variety of animals. The goals of a meat minimalist are to reduce the detrimental effects of mass production of meat products on the environment, economy and human/animal health. In addition, meat minimalism helps support small, organic/all natural and sustainable farming practices.

I tried to be a vegetarian but I love many meat dishes; I'm now a meat minimalist and only eat meat once or twice a week. I always try and eat only meat from organic or naturally raised animals.

Any art movement characterized by a boundless devotion to embellishment, elaboration, complexity, palimpsest, and T-shirts that are sorta hard to read. Overlaps with so-called grunge styles.

My mom made me shop at the Gap all my life. Now that I'm on my own, I've rejected Functional Minimalism. Instead I choose the path of Maximalism, as you can tell from the calligraphic skulls all over this copy of "Beautiful Decay." Wanna see my inkblot doodles?

minimalist music

A style of music originating in the 20th century. It is characterised by repeated motifs, varied slightly over a long period. Also common are long notes played over these repeated sections.

Interestingly enough, John Cage's famous silent piece 4'33'' is not considered minimalist, even though it is the most repetitive and minimal song ever composed.
