hiring freeze

A condition in which a place of business puts a temporary halt on the hiring of new employees. This is often the result of the CEO purchasing a new yacht or Fiji beach home and usually means that employees of said company should start looking for new jobs.

"Thank you for interviewing with us, but management has just initiated a hiring freeze. We will be keeping your resume on file. I am going to go kill myself now."

Kaz Hirai

The owner and CEO of Sony. Is Japanese. Acheived internet fame through his press conference where he stated that the Playstation 3 would be "$599.99 American dollars" and "Ridge Racer".

When PS3 came out, many people were injured by crowds, some killed, so he can be partially blamed for their deaths.

"It's Ridge Racer, Riiiiiidge Racer!" said Kaz Hirai, the CEO of Sony.

Hirai's Syndrome

Used to refer to a work (often an animation, but can be otherwise) in which all the characters are fundamentally the same recycled design. Name refers to Japanese character designer Hisashi Hirai (Scryed, Gundam SEED) who has become notorious for designing entire casts using all of 3 different facial designs.
