The term, social butterbitch, derives from the universally known phrase 'social butterfly'. A social butterbitch is someone who socialises with lots of different people but on a purely lame level. They try too hard and it's cringe worthy.

(n): A Person who spends more time at your place than at their own place. Not necessarily unwelcome, this person can be a good friend. But when asked where they came from they will generally answer, "They found me lying face-down in the gutter."
