It is something one is born with in which the brain literally cannot empathize. They can think only of their own emotions and are often blunt and/or spiteful to others. These people are often thought to be involved in school shootings, serial killing, and other criminal activity. The perfect example would be the character Angelina Jolie played in the movie Girl Interrupted.
