A slap on the head, usually the back of the head. Not hrd enough to really hurt, but suffient to shake up the recipient more than a little.

Often used in a group of males to "encourage" the one that's always a bit slower than the others.

"So that's three Big Macs, a Quarter pounder, a chicken sandwich .... Jim, what do you want ?"

"Err... a Big - no, one of those fish .... can I have nuggets ? No hang on, something with bacon ....."

<SMACK>

"Make your mind up NOW, unless you want some more brain therapy !"

"Ok, OK, Big Mac and Fries !"

Backhand-therapy

parenthetical element: meaning needs "to be beaten", or referring to domestic violence. Added to a sentence to describe a woman or child that should be shown the back of one's hand to modify their behavior to not be "bitchy", or "bratty".

When observing a scene in which a man's girlfriend spoke back, or insulted him in front of his friends in a "bitchy" tone. His friends were noted to say, "Did you see the way Carla treated Darren this afternoon, she's in need of some backhand-therapy!

Culinary therapy

The act of consuming food to ease away negative emotions or soothe your anger. Like retail therapy except with food.

Basically, eating your problems.
(Not to be confused with bulimia, but excessive culinary therapy may lead to bulimia)

Girl 1: I can't believe he broke up with me!
Girl 2: I'm sorry. Are you in need of some culinary therapy?
Girl 1: Yes, please.
Girl 2: I'll get the Haagen-Dazs

word therapy

Healing oneself by working with words and letting them order and clarify the way one feels, thinks, and acts.

After a major television network offered to interview me, but then cancel the interview, lowered my self-concept, confused me, made me feel powerless—even helpless, but not hopeless.

Soon after I started to edit the index of a book I'm writing, working with words made me feel increasingly better.

Working with words balanced my emotions and allowed me to feel, think, and act correctly again. I call that word therapy.
