Free Meal

A free meal is a meal that you paid nothing for or found, usually by non-traditional means, i.e. food found in a garbage can or roadkill you intend to eat.

When you haven't eaten in 8 days due to low rations in the trenches and you see a horde of trench rats running beneath you and you think, damn. That's a free meal.
