Out of fear of being scammed again, students with "PTSD" force genuinely legitimate online tutors to go through completely arbitrary & convoluted nonsense to try to “prove” the tutor's legitimacy. However, because of the student's "PTSD," no matter how much concrete evidence the tutor provides bolstering their legitimacy, the student is still convinced the genuinely legitimate online tutor is just another scammer.
Jeez, this student that texted me got some serious PTSD: Post-Tutor Scam Disorder! Apparently, some foreign scammer from the Middle East claimed to be an expert in chemistry and tricked her into paying him upfront. Then he blocked her number and never heard from him again. Because of that, this student is making me jump through hoops to try to prove I'm not another scammer. It is complete BS that she's making me go through this nonsense when she totally didn't make that other guy do so before. But it's pointless, no matter how much proof I give her, her PTSD will still make her think I'm a scammer, so what's even the point of humoring her?

You'll be shocked to find Manhattan is a big machine designed to take money out of your pockets. Only place I ever saw a drive-by stabbing. Cops didn't even want to talk to the witnesses. Too busy taking bribes, I guess.
The girl I went with worked for Robert, a conman who grifted kids going to Europe out of their ticket money. When they tried to make him give it back, he'd have them arrested. Real sweet guy. And he's still in business, 20 years later. I wonder who he's paying off.

Chris' coworkers were impressed with his efforts to scamble in order to get maximize his paycheck and time off.
