The acronym is short for Dog Of The People. It refers to dogs, primarily of the Pitbull breed that have become well received and loved, by other dogs, onlookers, dog walkers, passerbys, and owner.

Petey is not just a dog, he is the DOTP. Walking around town each day like a King making friends, chasing squirrels and eating treats.

Reverse of a Hotdog, where a thin breadstick is placed in a sliced open salami, wide enough to be considered a hotdog bun. Usually significantly more expensive than a Hotdog, as you can't get a cheap hotdog wiener that big.
Very nice if you like more wiener and less buns.
