too big to be punished

Powerful interests that are not subjected to normal legal proceedings, but instead are allowed to settle out of court and out of criminal charges, and keep their profits. The banks have developed a fail safe way of robbing and defrauding their customers and tax payers, by pleading they are too big to fail, and too big to be punished.
