Not to be mistaken with an inner city college student. a Poomaloof can often be found in smoke friendly sports bars, eateries with good drink specials and or massage parlors. A Poomaloof will often claim to be quite knowledgeable in various fields of study however one quickly sees through the facade.

While out drinking last night, I ran into a Poomaloof in a bar and quickly found myself in a heated debate, concerning whoopie goldberg and her 'open relationships'.
