communication gainers

By late 2008 there has been a general disenchantment with the words autism and Gifted and Talented. Especially in light of a school called "autistic economics" as a put down phrase. Gifted and talented just sounds elitist (the G&T are just very good at something, not elitist).

As all those undertaking education in special schools and main stream schools and therapy groups have the need for communication gains, it is generally accepted the phrase communication gainers will replace "autism" "ASD", "gifted and talented" and "PDD"

Since going to the Aspergers group Charlie has become a real communication gainer. Mary's speech pathologist has made a program to help Mary become a communication gainer. Early Intervention has allowed Billy to become a real communication Gainer. Jill goes to a communication gainers class for advanced maths course.

Person A: God fucking dammit stop saying yes!!!
Person B: Yes

depressed, complicated hipster act

An often repeated theatrical routine performed by certain types of hipsters, which is consciously and meticulously rehearsed in advance. While everyone experiences depression, and experiences it in different ways, hipsters often seek to externalize their negative emotions in a manner designed to give the impression that they are more complicated and interesting than the everyday, garden variety hipster. Recurring themes include: sprinkling conversation with Keats references, wearing tight-fitting and threadbare Joy Division t-shirts, and getting inebriated on expensive cognacs every single night of the week. As with all hipster routines, the ‘depressed, complicated hipster act’ is nothing more than a tiresome fashion aesthetic, as well as a pretentious, stilted attempt at projecting a unique persona.

Normal dude #1: Should we call Simon and see if he wants to grab a burger and a few beers?

Normal dude #2: Actually, Simon doesn’t eat anymore—it’s his latest thing. And, no, don’t call him. I’m getting tired of his depressed, complicated hipster act. We can’t afford to drink in his bars, anyway.

complicated cat

Someone who is more or less a boring person with a very normal, soft comfy life. They consider themselves special, and create unnecessary drama to make things more interesting for themselves.

Have you seen Mad Men? Betty Draper is such a complicated cat. very important with very little to do.
