Comic Book

A short 22-44 page book with art panels and speech bubbles, usually with superheroines and such. Usually separated into many individual issues and then collected into trade paperbacks when the stories are done.

Despite what the other descriptions say they are not incredibly sexist or misogynistic.

Comic books have been around for a long time but really started to be known in 1938 with Action Comics #1, or the first appearance of Superman. Since then comic books have been expanding and growing through different companies and brands.

You can find comics at your LCS (Local Comic Store), most of the time the people will be helpful and happy to help you find what you want. Support your local LCS everybody!

Book Hangover

Getting so emotionally invested in a book that you think about it for days on end. Characterized by sadness experienced when the book is over and the realization that one will never have the opportunity to feel the way they did reading it for the first time.
I finished reading the last Jhumpa Lahiri novel and have the worst book hangover.

Hit the books

A graffiti term which means to sketch. 'Hit' refers to the act of practicing tags, throws, straights, pieces etc. with a writing utensil and 'the books' refers to a black book, sketch pad, or anything to draw on.

This term can also mean reading up on knowledge. Wether it be knowledge of other graffiti writers or knowledge in the form of a video or movie.
My tag looks trash, I need to hit the books and make a new one.
