Mendon was known as the mother town because it gave it's lands away to surrounding developing communities back in the day. Unfortunately the current residents of Mendon have abandoned their history and have destroyed many of their historic buildings; including the Taft family homestead and the original Henry P. Clough School. Shame on you town planning board!!!
