mallcore goth

Mallcore Goth: (n.) One who tends to hang out at the mall in almost all of their free time and can usually be found hanging out inside/outside of stores like Hot Topic and Spenser's Gifts. They tend to wear heavy black eyeshadow, black lipstick, and black nail polish, as well as funny little designs around the eyes and lips that are created with the eyeshadow. They tend to wear clothes with excessive amounts of chains and cuffs, loops, rings, and bondage straps, and lots of fishnet clothing, and thigh-high boots. Music tends to be the sorts of such bands: Korn, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, and other bands of the sort.
The kids you see around the mall, school, general public who look depressed, when in actuallity they're not. They're just pussies looking for attention who like to whine and moan in their free time about how shitty their lives are, when in actuallity, they live a life with higher status than the average middleclass family. Their parents actually love them, and they're right, but they need to put on a fake show because they're attention whores.

Goth Punk

Sorry Phalkon. It's not really new. Goth Punk came about a little bit before Good Charlotte and co. Well, actually, waaaay before. Try the '70s.
Anyway, punks who dress like goths isn't really new. I'm thinking of Siouxsie Sioux and Dave Vanian, in particular... Then, there were the deathrockers--Christian Death, Shadow Project, etc. Sometimes the Misfits are included, sometimes not.
By the way, it may be worth mentioning that Trent Reznor and Marilyn Manson claim Rozz Williams was an influence on their work.
Zombies, sex, death, and burning crosses... What's not to love?

Goth/Gothic

A style of art, popular in Europe from the late 12th century to the early 16th century. It is also known as the International Style. Gothic art is mainly remembered in architecture. It was created by Abbot Sugert (Shu-ger). He planed to renovate the Cathedral of St. Denis, outside of Paris. Other famous gothic cathedrals include: Notre Dame, Chartres, Milan, and Pisa. The "Leaning Tower of Pisa" is actually the bell tower for that cathedral.

Gothic sculpture became more realistic, however, the forms tended to be elongated.

Gothic painting, like sculpture, had elongated forms, and was quite realistic. However, the artists failed to grasp vanishing point perspective. The most famous Gothic painter was Giotto.
I visited the Padua cathedral and saw Giotto's work. It was if he reinvented painting.

Goth Music

Goth Music is nothing without motherfucking Bauhaus. In the beginning, there was Bauhaus, thus sayeth the high regents of dark taste. Regarding any other proposed Gothic first band, "Press the Eject and Give Me the Motherfucking sic Tape."
Goth Music can solve all of life's problems if you keep to the bad teachings of Bauhaus: Feeling stressed? Dr. Goth suggests listening to "In the Flat Field." Relationship problems? Try out a bit of ""Bela Lugosi's Dead." Feeling low about the state of the world? Ah, you need some "Ball of Confusion."

Denim goth

A type of alternative style, a mix between indie and goth. Unlike the pastel goth and the bubble goth, a denim goth may dip between both indie and goth styles and mix. They often mix Gothic footwear, jewelry, make up and various clothing items with denim jackets, floral prints, over sized jumpers and a pair of denim shorts.

active goth

A person who has fully committed themselves to the goth subculture and the lifestyle that it entails: leather, buckles, piercings, decorative contact lenses and all. Unlike passive goths, active goths can be identified as goth on-sight.
The elusive active goth can be found at your local Hot Topic. Here we see them walking with a black parasol in their victorian/steampunk casual-wear, petting their plastic ravens and black cats as they go on about the blight of inevitable death and "the man" before they congregate by the hundreds to express their individuality to their goth brethren.
