To listen to someone completely wrong without feeling the need to argue or correct them. From "Unfinshed Tales", when Gandalf replies to Saruman's coding about not weighing in on the fate of the One Ring: "it gives patience to listen to error without anger'

"I hear what you are saying, I'm going to pull a Gandalf. See you tomorrow"

Gandalf

1. Sexual Slang – To be rejected in a decisive, almost theatrical fashion, usually when making a sexual advance. Originates from Gandalf’s line in The Lord of the Rings: “You shall not pass.”

2. Gaming Slang – To wipe out enemies in spectacular fashion, shutting them down from advancing.

3. Social – To block someone from access, usually with flair.

Variants:

Mini-Gandalf: partial wipe, still stylish or high body count (gaming)

Full Gandalf: total shut down (social), 100% annihilation (gaming).

Reverse Gandalf: when you try to be clutch but get wrecked instead.
