acid moment

A word to describe any of the following:
1. A seemingly ordinary event which has a surreal or hallucinogenic twist...
2. That wierd feeling you get when you feel something is out of place/sync, yet others are oblivious to your
realisation.
3. Any defining moment in a psychedelic experience which has a personal importance or relevance.

The following examples are not necessarily accurate, but are merely a guideline to emphasise the definition :)
1 - acid moment: a neon green tandem bike with pink fluffy pedals riding through the most unpleasant part of town...
2 - acid moment: Deja Vu or any related mindset that relates to the definition...
3 - acid moment: when you realise the universe is not the actual structure around you but the complex synergy of emotions, experiences and choices that define your very existence.

acid test

A series of parties and gatherings consisting of high use of grass, speed, and most especially LSD. These gatherings were common in the mid to late 60's created by novelist Ken Kesey and his Band of Merry Pranksters. The band The Grateful Dead, was conceived at these acid tests.

A type of rap music made popular artist Esham, which includes aggressive hip-hop beats and many aspects of rock music. Horrorcore is said to have spawned from this style.

acid jazz

A style of music that utilizes electronic and hip-hop techniques to create a somewhat upbeat or sensual psychedelic soundscape. It is often characterized by its use of loops and samples of original jazz and blues recordings but with electronic beats, scratching, and mixing.

US3's 1993 recording "Cantaloupe" is an acid jazz version of Herbie Hancock's "Cantaloupe Island."
