Pre-Holiday Movie

These are the movies that are released from the middle of October to about the middle of November, just before the holiday movie season. They may have some elements of being a holiday movie (slim but potential Oscar nomination, somewhat epic, drama, romantic comedy) but are usually not the major draw that the holiday blockbusters are. These are frequently horror movies to capitalize on Halloween.

The pre-holiday movies serve Hollywood by advertising the holiday blockbusters.

Refers to the act of glancing at the netting over your window/door to see how many flying bloodsuckers are landed on it before deciding whether or not to venture outside.

You'll want to always give "the great outdoors" a pre-screening before just mindlessly heading out the door, so that you don't get eaten alive once you're out there.

When your university housemate is having pres with a group of friends you don't really know in the communal kitchen or living area, so you're forced to stay (or hide) in your room all evening

I was planning to meal prep tonight, but Sophie was having pres in the kitchen, so I ended up being a pres prisoner and having dry cereal out of the box in my room instead
