However, the phrase has gone far outside of its original realm, and now widely used by many people as the modern version of "pardon my French".

When someone trys to act hard, tough or chavish infront of people, and you reply sarcastically with 'sorry hard' to show that they're failing.

It's also used to show that they're not hard atall, when they're acting like gimps.

dog sorry

To apologise insincerely to appease someone in the short term, in the way that a dog will look submissive while being scolded but will repeat the same behaviour again once their owner has gone.
