When someone is so awkward or embarrassing that you don't want to be associated with them and would prefer to just walk away.

Scomotosis

A serious condition caused by chronic climate denial, prevalent in contemporary Australia. Scomophobia

Fear of being governed by a fossil fuel or climate denier.

'ScoMo' is the nickname of the current Australian Prime Minister, a staunch supporter of coal mining and resister of science. Scomophobia has spread through the Australasian region as neighbouring nations look on in terror and disbelief. Scomophobics believe in science and have a profound emotional attachment to their home planet.

The Scomophobia was so serious the school children had to go on strike for 3 years.
