When news of the love child with the “side piece” or “jump-off” is revealed, the man’s only option is to confess to fathering a child while “on a break” of the relationship.”

Ex. Did you hear that Joe and Lisa are engaged and expecting a baby?
That’s great news! I didn’t know Lisa was pregnant.
She’s not. Joe had an “on break baby” when he and Lisa were broken up.
