Any place -- town, neighborhood, company, department, or corner occupied by a few people -- which is boring, unpleasant, or both.
That neighborhood is safe, but it's a charm-free zone.
Nobody on the fourth floor of that dorm has any sense of humor; it's a charm-free zone.
When you get to the party, stay away from the corner nearest the fire place; it's a charm-free zone.

When you add/are added by a person of the opposite sex on Facebook, and it leads to you developing a platonic friendship instead of the originally-intended relationship
I added Kristie on Facebook to get to know her and ask her out, but it isn't working out. Now I'm in the Facebook friend zone.

First adopted by feminists intended to replace "friend zone" entirely. Use to explain how a manipulative woman can take advantage of a man by excepting gifts and favors under the false pretenses of a relationship and still make it the man's fault.
could be used to explain unwanted attention from a man but feminists ruined it before it even started.

"Why tell him he's girlfriend zoned me when he's been paying my bills, buying me concert tickets, and taking me out to dinner for the last 4 months."
